"Intimate partner abuse accounts for 15% of all violent crime"

A help to those who need it

Our Mission & Vision

The Cayman Islands Crisis Centre is a charitable organization that provides support to all survivors of domestic abuse via services and programmes focusing on domestic abuse through the provision of:

  • Safe, temporary shelter for women and their children
  • 24/7 Crisis Line available to all persons in the community
  • Aftercare assistance for the former shelter clients
  • Community education
  • At-risk children and youth support
  • Assistance to all survivors of domestic abuse

Our vision is to close our doors forever because our services are no longer needed, and to create a safe society where all individuals are equally valued and respected.

Cayman Islands Crisis Centre

Who We Are

We are the Cayman Islands Crisis Centre (CICC), a non-profit organization that has been serving our community since early 2003. We officially opened our doors on International Women’s Day, 8th of March 2003, and have since provided vital support to those affected by domestic abuse.

As the only provider of an Emergency Shelter for women and their children in the Cayman Islands, we also operate a 24-hour Crisis Line (#943-2422) and extend support to all survivors of domestic abuse.

Our services include Estella’s Place — a walk-in centre where all survivors of domestic abuse can access support, ongoing care for former shelter clients, a children and youth programme, and an after-school programme for at-risk teens and young adults.

Through community education and continued outreach, we remain committed to offering hope, safety, and support to those in need.

Our Beginnings

The Cayman Islands Crisis Centre was established in 2003 as the country’s first safe shelter for female survivors of domestic abuse and their children. Many members of the community deserve thanks for their vision and hard work, including Estella Scott-Roberts who established CICC, Cayman Islands Government and the members of the Business and Professional Women’s Club of Grand Cayman, who were instrumental in getting the CICC launched.

Mr. Len Layman also deserves special thanks as he chaired the Board of the CICC from its inception until 2015, working to fulfill his vision of a Cayman without abuse towards women.

Causes and positive change all over the world.
