KATRINA COOKE-BROWNLEE
Katrina Brownlee is a retired NYPD officer and domestic violence survivor who was shot 10 times by her former boyfriend, a jail guard. She survived the attack, though tragically lost her unborn child. Turning pain into purpose, Katrina went on to serve as a police officer and now educates law enforcement on handling domestic abuse cases.She is the founder of Young Ladies of Our Future and Can't Be Silenced, organizations dedicated to mentoring at-risk young women and addressing the domestic violence crisis. She is also the author of And Then Came the Blues: My Story of Survival on Both Sides of the Badge.
