The CICC provides the country’s only Emergency Shelter for female survivors of domestic abuse and their children, 24-hour Crisis Line (#943-2422), assistance to all survivors of abuse, ongoing support to former shelter clients, teen and young adults’ afterschool programme for at-risk youth, helpline for children, a walk-in centre for all survivors of domestic abuse, community education and ongoing support and services.
We are the Cayman Islands Crisis Centre (CICC), a non-profit organization that has been serving our community since early 2003. We officially opened our doors on International Women’s Day, 8th of March 2003, and have since provided vital support to those affected by domestic abuse.
As the only provider of an Emergency Shelter for women and their children in the Cayman Islands, we also operate a 24-hour Crisis Line (#943-2422) and extend support to all survivors of domestic abuse.
Our services include Estella’s Place — a walk-in centre where all survivors of domestic abuse can access support, ongoing care for former shelter clients, a children and youth programme, and an after-school programme for at-risk teens and young adults.
Through community education and continued outreach, we remain committed to offering hope, safety, and support to those in need.
The CICC acknowledges that domestic abuse is a violation of an individual’s human rights and is not just a problem that affects the person directly involved but also their families and the whole community. We also acknowledge that to combat these problems we must take a nationwide approach. Therefore, our services are available to everyone within our community regardless of race, creed, nationality, socio-economic status, gender, sexual orientation, age, language, religion, or physical ability. Our shelter programme is only available for women and their children. However, services such as our 24-hour confidential crisis line are available to everyone in the community including male victims of domestic violence. Our programmes and services are available to all islands in the Cayman Islands, and we provide them at no cost to the community.
The Cayman Islands Crisis Center is a charitable organization that provides services and programmes focusing on domestic and sexual abuse through the provision of safe temporary shelter for women and their children, community education and assistance to all victims of abuse.
Our vision is to close our doors forever because our services are no longer needed. And to create a safe society where all individuals are equally valued and respected.
