How Can You Help A Friend in an Abusive Relationship?

v  Listen and let your friend know that you care.

v  Make sure that your friend knows that she/he is not alone.

v  Don’t rush into giving opinions. Keep communication open.

v  Let your friend know that abuse tends to get worse over time and that it will not go away on its own

v  Call the police when you witness an assault. Domestic Abuse is a CRIME.

v  Encourage your friend to call the CICC and get help.  Encourage your friend to access counseling.
